Family Room Makeover — Light, Cozy, and Elevated Design

This family room transformation by JGib Interiors focused on creating a lighter, more inviting atmosphere while maintaining warmth and sophistication.

Heavy draperies were removed and replaced with light sheer drapery panels that extend to the ceiling and are elegantly concealed behind custom crown molding. The standard wood blinds were swapped for Hunter Douglas Pirouette shades, offering versatile light control and the ability to set different moods throughout the day.

The brick fireplace was refaced with stacked stone and paneled molding, extending to the ceiling to create height, texture, and visual interest while brightening the overall space. A new soft, light-toned carpet adds comfort underfoot and balances the darker wall color, which enhances drama and makes the tall-ceilinged room feel cozy and intimate.

To complete the update, separate sofas were replaced with a custom sectional and oversized lounge chair, creating the perfect spot for family gatherings, reading, or relaxing.
